  :: Welcome to Page TWO, Geek Central:

This is PAGE TWO.  Even this funky RED portal format has some size and space limitations.  This page will cover various items not mentioned in depth previously, like Yahoogroup addresses, etc.  Page two is the "Geek Page"... I am involved in technology and computers as both a job and a personal passion; so I collect all sorts of little info bits that I find personally useful and post them here.

MORE DETAIL HERE

  :: Loren Ipsum Generator:

Loren Ipsum is that colorful pseudo-Greek filler that you see in a lot of markups and pasteups of text projects.  I find it useful for coding webpages as well as doing desktop publishing projects.  The problem is I don't have time to sit here thinking in Pseudo-Greek.  Fortunately, somebody out there thought of this for me.  Check out the LOREN IPSUM GENERATOR, a handy site.  The Loren Ipsum generator will crank out reams of the stuff for you, separated into paragraphs as needed.  And it's free!

  :: Clay Shirky Newsfeed :

Courtesy of the wonderful FEEDROLL RSS parser to Javascript site (see link in "Other Sites I use", to the left), I've included a little feed of the writings of one Clay Shirky.  Shirky's stuff impresses me.  It's not just about technology, which is of course the focus of his writings, but also about cultures that have cropped up around the Internet, and some of the moral/ethical and legal problems that a wired society can create.  Clay publishes his columns on his own website, but also distributes via an RSS Newsfeed, which is a nfity new 'live content' generator not unlike that "Gaming Report" I have on the first page.

  :: netLibrary Online :

netLibray is an expansion of the reknowned FAIRFAX COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM , netLibrary offers thousands and thousands of electronic documents to registered users.  You have to register at a FCPL, but that's not a big problem. The FCPL ONLINE CATALOGUE is not integrated with netLibrary.

I'm on a bunch of Yahoogroups.  Here are the big ones.
